Lots of New News....

So, my family and I are finally back from or trip.  I have finished editing Jonathan and Chrissy's Wedding photos from June 7th.  They have been posted to my client photos album.  I will add some to my portfolio in a few weeks.  I also finished editing Alan & Caitlin's Rehearsal photos from the 20th of June.  Those will be posted soon.  I am still working on the wedding photos.

Couple of GREAT things going on with the business right now.  I was approached by one of my Brides to help her out and be her Wedding Planner on top of her photographer and I said Yes.  This has blossomed in the last few weeks.  In the last week, I have booked 3 weddings for '08 where I am the Photographer but also the Wedding Planner and I am also Designing and making the Cake for 2 of those weddings.  Things are GREAT~!  To go along with all the new changes, I have hired an assistant, a 2nd shooter, an accountant, and a web designer.  Also, our name will be changing the beginning of '09 to encompass all the new changes.  The business will then be known as Events By Veronica, Fotography and Event Planning.  We have a new site and lots of changes in the works to reflect the new aspects of the Business.

Another great thing going on is that yesterday I was contacted by the Marketing Director 103 Jamz.  103 Jamz is a local radio station that also has 3 other sister stations.  I was contacted because they found my web page through a new advertising outlet I just started using and LOVED my work.  They are looking to work with me as a Vendor and also an Event Photographer for an event coming up soon.  I have meetings this week with them to discuss the details.

Also, while on Vacation, I met with someone who is hopefully going to be introducing me to an Up and Coming Fashion Designer from DC.  A friend of my Husband's knows a Very talented fashion designer in DC where she lives.  This designer hand crafted a dress for her to wear to a Wedding we all attended.  Anyway, I LOVED the dress and it lead to an in depth conversation about my possibly working with this designer.  I have some wonderful ideas for what I can do with some of his designs and from talking to my friend, I think that the designer and I have a similar style of thinking.  This designer is launching his line with a fashion show in February '09 and I will hopefully be in the area still to be there and take some Fabulous photos for him.  Anyway, all the details for this are still in the works.  

Wedding dates for '08 are pretty much filled.  I might have 1 or 2 dates left.  To all my Brides currently booked, look for me to be contacting you in the next 5-10 days to schedule your Engagement and Bridal Sessions.  I am currently only booking '09 Weddings in Virginia for the Month of January.  As soon as our orders are picked, I will be booking for later in the year for our next location, whether that be Virginia or somewhere else.  I am already photographing a Wedding in April '09 in the Outer Banks, so if we do end up transferring out of the area, I will be making that trip and accepting bookings for shoots either the week before or the week after the wedding.

I'm VERY positive and excited about all the wonderful and amazing things going on~!  Hopefully everyone will keep checking back for more updates as things pan out.  :)  

On a personal note, My husband and I still have not picked our final destination for orders.  There were a few things that have come up in our lives recently that have kept us from making the decision.  Hopefully we will put in our choices in July.  Also, I am pretty much booked for the month of July and I will have to take some unexpected time off to have surgery.  It should be quite uncomplicated and recovery is just a few days.  I'm looking forward to getting this over with since business is booming and things seem to be speeding up with Business.  Also, the 1st-10th of August is not currently available to schedule shoots since my In-laws are going to be in town.  My Husband and I are really excited to be able to see them again so soon after visiting them in Connecticut.  It's great that our children get to visit with and have such a wonderful and close relationship with their grandparents even though they live 8 hours away.  We definitely enjoy being able to spend so much time with them.

Well, those are the current updates.  I am working on some specials for the Months of July and August to post on here, I just haven't had a chance yet.  Like I said, keep checking back for updates~!

On Vacation.....

Just a Little Note to my Clients and Anyone else who takes the time to read my Blog.....

I will be ON VACATION until July 7th.  My family and I will be out of town for 2 weeks and then we have some friends in town for another week.  After that it's the 4th of July and we have some Special Plans.  Don't think that just because I am out of town that I am taking all the time off.  While we are gone I have a Wedding to Photograph and a BUNCH of portrait sessions.  I just updated my portfolio tonight and there will be Tons more photos and galleries when we get back.  If anyone is interested in Booking a Session or getting any more information while I am gone, don't hesitate to email me or just give me a call.  I will be checking my email every couple of days and also I will have my cell phone with me.  

Also, as some of you know, My Husband is up for Change of Orders.  We decided to hold off on choosing our new orders last month.  This months cycle of orders just came out today and my husband and I have already made our decision and put in our #1 and #2 Choices.  I know I talked to some people last month about where we wanted to go, but those plans have changed.  We decided to stop and look at the Bigger Picture.  Were we have decided to go now means Bigger House, Wonderful School System, New Places to Explore, New Clients, Having my Hubby home even more than I do now (even though it's sea duty) and maybe another Baby in the near future~!! (it's definitely been a topic of conversation lately)  We are Totally Living OUR Dream and Loving OUR Life right now~!  I really hope that all my friends and clients are as Blessed as we are.  

We will definitely announce where our next adventure with the Navy is going to take us in the Next few months.  There are also going to be some new things going on with the Business that I will be announcing starting with the fact that I am branching out into Wedding Planning.  I have a Wedding in July that I have been Hired to do as the Photographer and I am also the Wedding Planner.  I am having so much fun and things are going so smoothly.  The Bride has been wonderful.  We will be listing prices for Weddings By Veronica in the Next Few Weeks.  Thanks to all my friends and clients who thought I was a great planner and to just go ahead and jump into it.  I have been doing party planning since College but I never thought of working my Photography and my Party Planning together.  I'm having a Blast being able to do both things and it's going very well.  More great news coming soon.  New products, New Partners, New Advertising, New Models, New Packages and prices, and MUCH MORE~!

Baby Derek.....

If you've been paying attention to my Portfolio, you'll notice that i've done a few sessions of my Friend Jennifer's new baby Derek.  Well, He turned 2 months yesterday so I met her for some new photos.  Here is a sampling of those pictures.  More will be posted in my Portfolio in the next few days.

Collins Family

My Best Friend Heather asked me to do some family portraits for her this weekend.  Her eldest son joined the Air Force and will be leaving later this month and she wanted some fun Family photos to send with him.  So, This weekend I headed over to her house and had a fun family portrait session.  Here is a sampling of some of the photos.  :)   (mind you I said fun family portrait session.... There were piggy-back rides, pig-piles and lots of tickling and teasing.  In other words, It was a BLAST.) 

George and Larissa

Well, I'm finally able to show everyone some of the Photos from George and Larissa's Wedding.  This Wedding was Amazingly beautiful.  It was held on May 17th, 2008 at The Founder's Inn and Spa in Virginia Beach.  Here is a quick sampling of the photos from the Wedding.  The full Gallery of selections can be found in my Portfolio.

Jonathan and Chrissy....

Last night was Jon and Chissy's Wedding.  It was soooo fun and amazing.  This Wedding was great because it was such a Wonderful Couple.  These two are so in love with life and each other and it truly shows.  It was such a Free-spirited and fun experience for them as well as all involved.  Some of the Highlights were the Beautiful Location.  They were married in Beautiful Well's Theatre located right in the Heart of Downtown Norfolk.  This place is Amazing and Beautiful.  The Groom and his attendants entered with Full Force as a Boxer and his team.  The Bride and her Attendants then "Boogied" their way down the isle to 'I'm too Sexy'.  The real fun started at the Reception with a Surprise First Dance.  The couple and their Wedding Party learned the Choreography to the Finale Dance in DIrty Dancing.  This was amazingly entertaining (and everyone was quite good~!)  The fun continued into the night with High Spirits and some fun Karaoke and Crazy Dancing.  

Chrissy's Bridal Portraits were taken in April at Huber Hall in the Beautiful Chrysler Museum.  Some of her portraits and now loaded into my Portfolio for everyone to look at.  Wedding photos will be posted after I get back from Vacation.
